Cass Ezeji is a Glaswegian self-taught artist.

Cass Ezeji is a self-taught artist from Glasgow whose practice spans music, writing and documentary. She is the vocalist of the critically acclaimed bands Laps and Golden Teacher.

Shaped by her Scottish, Nigerian, and Irish heritage, as well as her upbringing in a Glasgow tenement, her work is rooted in lived experience. Across different forms, she returns to themes of class, migration, collective memory, and the ways communities create belonging through language, music, and place. Across essays, criticism, and cultural writing, she explores questions of identity and history.

Her documentary Afro-Gàidheil (BBC Alba) examines Scotland's role in the transatlantic slave trade while foregrounding contemporary voices from the Black Gàidhealtachd through the Gaelic musical tradition. The film advocates for an inclusive understanding of Gaelic language and culture that both honours its heritage and reflects the diversity of its present-day speakers.

This website serves as an archive of her creative work, documenting a decade of artistic practice prior to her transition into secondary education.
